Recommendations to upgrade my rear LCA on my JKU
Hello,
I have a 2012 JKUR, 2.5 MC game changer lift with 35s. After a trip on the Rubicon recently I am looking to upgrade my rear LCA brackets. I am looking to gain a bit of clearance if possible or to at least get better protection. ideally both. I think I've narrowed it down to two options.
First: Artec JK rear LCA brackets with skids (i already have the fronts and they work/ protect great) but they look like they just replace the same bracket, albeit stronger.
Second: I also am looking at the Metal Cloak shock relocation and clearance kit. This one looks like it will gain additional clearance after I grind off the bracket, but does not add extra protection to the rear LCA or skids, and I also wonder how it affects uptravel.
I am hoping people with experience can chime in, or even with other options also. Cheers!

Yes, the artec bracket is the same dimensions as stock. You can use the MC shock relocation bracket and trim the artec bracket as you would factory.
As for limiting shock travel, you need to see if you have enough room to play with. Compress your rear suspension and see if you have 2” or shock chart exposed. If so then you can use the relocation bracket from MC. If not then you won’t gain anything by raising your lower shock mount.
Personally, I don’t like the idea of raising a lower shock mount. I’d rather stick with the artec bracket and use a taller shock if you have room. This allows you to not only maximize your up travel but also gain a little down travel.

You should at least look at the Evo RockStars just so you see another option, though you again get into the shock length dilemma of raising the mount. I like mine, but you really have to research and scrutinize shock lengths and a lot of folks don't care to dive that deep into things.
