Default Recommended Lift Kits

I'm seriously considering a small lift (maybe 2 and half inches) for my 2012 JK Sport but I'm a little afraid I might choose the wrong one. Which ones do you guys recommend I try? I don't want to break the bank but I don't a crappy one either, suggestions are more than welcome!

Have you been through Dirtman's sticky at the top of the Modified section yet?

That is going to be the best place to start. It's also a hard question for members to answer without some very specific details about how you are going to use your jeep. Outside of wanting good quality without breaking the bank, we're not sure how you intend to use this.

What are your goals with your rig?
What size tire do you want?
Do you see yourself growing AKA going bigger down the road?
What is your budget?
Most companies have pretty complete "systems" or they can be upgraded with other parts too.
Good luck in your choice!

I personally went with the AEV 2.5. ride is a little stiffer then stock but not bad and i liked how it uses the stock control arms. the stock bushings have a long maintance free life span.

Teraflex coil lift in my opinion is a great mid-range lift. You can get it with or without shocks. All depends on what your goals are. Once you lift with coils usually involves other optional things to bring it back to stockish ride quality (Control arms, trackbar, etc)

If just for looks then a budget boost might be more inline with what you want and cost.

Definitely, fill in the blanks like others have requested.

Some more popular and good brand names in lifts which vary depending on what you're personally trying to achieve and your budget.

In no particular order:
Metalcloak
Rock Krawler
Teraflex
Mopar
AEV
Old Man Emu
Rancho

Over the holidays I got a killer deal on a 2.5" readylift sst kit. No bumpers or anything yet, stock Sahara 18" wheels and got just over 3" of actual lift and the rake is gone. Still rides like stock. Part # 69-6200. Its a spring kit with new sway bar links, new bump stops and shock extensions.

I just installed my 2nd Teraflex 2.5" lift last week and I'm extremely happy with the outcome. Unlike the first time I installed one there is no more drilling, everything really just bolts on.

You can get it with the shock extenders or with shocks, totally up to you.

Aside from quaity the one other item to note is the amount of information that is out there on whichever lift you choose. I watched a newer teraflex video over and over and over and by the time we were ready to install it was a breeze.

Good luck!

Well, I would like to do over landing with my Jeep so 2.5 inch is high but not too high seeing as I'm quite short but high enough to give me more than stock clearance. It seems though that the consensus is Teraflex what does the price usually range from? As for the shocks I would like to change out the shocks for better performance but like I said I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to lifts.
