Default Recon 17500???

Has anyone put this winch on their JK? Too much? Seems like a good price for a reliable BIG winch.

Damn that's a lot of winch for a Jeep. Bigger not always better. Bet you would tear the bumper off your rig with that thing?

Anyone? Is this too much? Or would it be nice to never worry about a snatch block?

The recon 10500 is a much better quality and value: You get synth line and IP67 weather proofing. For what it's worth, the 30000# MRAPs in Afghanistan are running Warn 8500lb winches!!!! THe 10.5k is a lot of winch, the 17k, overkill IMHO.

See sig block for my RECOn 10.5k

Most of us are trying to keep the weight down, did you notice that this thing is TWICE the weight of the 10,500? A 17k winch may be fun to have, but is totally unnecessary. And that extra 60 pounds hanging off the front?

60 lbs. on the front of any Jeep is beyond noticeable. I concur.

Recon 10,500 is the way to go. Great winch on all reviews.

Holy Cow! Wha'ch gonna recover with that, 18 Wheelers? You would need a Dana 60 up front with dualies and a Hemi just to carry it around.
