I'm about to do the same thing. From what I have gathered. One, they are not painted on the back side. Which is also true with the tailgate hinge. Second, do one on each door at a time so you don't mess up how the hangs.

correct there is no paint behind the hinges. When I first removed mine, I was concerned about the door paint coming up with the hinges too. No problems, just pull the hinge slowly, or if you're really concerned about it, take a razor around the edge before removing. I'd recommend painting or priming the bare door behind your hinge before re attaching the hinge. The OE paint on the door/hinge acted as a seal before the hinge was removed keeping that bare door free from rust/corrosion.

Agree with above...take your time and use a razor. Your hinges will feel like they don't want to come off the door, but they will eventually pop off with enough force. I had mine sandblasted and powdercoated, but any paint/do it yourself bedliner, etc can/will work fine.

You have a common problem but there won't be a common answer. I personally wouldn't open a can of worms taking the hinges off unless they where broken. The problem we all have is with the outer surface that we see. Are you sure that removing them to paint is the least cost or labour intensive way to go about this? Yah there's more than one way to skin a cat but why mess with gutting it if you just want the skin? Any problems you find after re and re even with paint underneath won't be seen until after you now have body skin corrosion leaking out rust trails.....next worm out of the can
Why not just lightly prep and touch up where required?

Why wouldn't this be covered under the 10 year corrosion warranty?

I know you have an 07 but it seems it is a Jeep problem to me.

Many dealers will warranty them regardless of the year, and take care of fixing them. I had mine done a year ago, and so far, so good.
