Default regear or not?

Going from 31s to 33×12.5×17 I have 3.73s now. Will I need to regear and if I don't will I notice a big difference?

Auto or 6spd? The auto will feel more sluggish than a 6spd with the tire upgrade. With my 6spd I noticed a little power loss going from 32's to 33's mainly due to the added weight of the new tires. You will notice some difference but not alot. Get yourself a Superchips programmer and you will get back your lost power if not alittle more seat of the pants power.

I have 33s and 4.10s and will probably go with 35s before regearing. After 5.13s get set up I can go with some 37s or a little larger.

I would think your 3.73s and 33s would work pretty well, if you stay at 33"

Will the superchip void the warranty?

Yes the superchips will void the warranty on any thing related to the computer, but that is why you keep the tuner and return it to stock before you take it in for service. I just added 33's to my automatic 4door, yes it is slower but not enough for me to justify the cost of gears.

Wait and see how bad it is. I am assuming you are running an Auto, so you will want to get a tuner to adjust your tire size and shift points.

So I'm guessing if I use the tuner to return it to stock, the dealer wont be able to tell it was used?

I would go the Superchips route, then see if you can live with it. Might be OK if you just drive rolling hills, etc with the OD off. Going from rubi 32's, to duratrac 33's made a big difference on my 08 auto 3.73's. A full Jeep going over mountain passes was unbearable around here. I just re-geared to 4.88's. It's a big difference driving around hills, and quickly getting to highway speed with the new gears.
