Default Regearing Costs???

I know there are different variables to this questions, but what is the average cost to regear? I have a 2013 2D and thinking of going to 35s.

i can't recall the exact number, but i paid about $1,400 total including parts and labor. and this included a slight discount because they were installing my lift at the same time and some of the work was redundant.

I paid $450.00 per axle. So $900.00 total just for labor. This seems pretty normal unless your on the west coast, then it's much cheaper it seems.

4.56 Gears Nitro's, Master Install kits, new Carrier for Dana 30 with new gears, Truetrac for rear from Northridge $1312 delivered the truetrac was $546 so subtract that

Gear oil and RTV $13.22

Drilling out the Truetrac $60

Install everything $650

Total for all 2035.22 or $1429.22 without the Truetrac.

If you take the time to remove the axles and install the new gears and just pay to have the correct shims put in, it will save you a ton. Mine was $125 per axle

There are a few places charging around $1000 (texas and california). $1400-1800 seems to be fairly average. And some folks on the east coast are posting quotes of $2000+.

But, what anyone else pays is pretty irrelevant. The only thing that matters is what your local shops charge. Call around and check them all, and it wouldn't hurt to touch base with local 4wheelers for reviews of their work.

450 per axle seems to be the norm where I am in NJ
