regearing question
I have a 2016 JKU with 3.21 gears. just lifted it 2 inches and put on 33s. I do mostly highway, beach and light trails. Is it worth the $1600 to regear to 4.10s? some people have recommended just getting a reprogramer.
One variable you left out, and which I don't see in your profile, is transmission. The rule of thumb is you need to move 2 gear sets to make it financially worthwhile. If you plan to keep the jeep for a few years, I'd suggest it would be worth the money. A programmer tweaking your tire size in the computer is not going to make much difference, but would be necessary for a regear anyhow as you have to update the gearing after the fact.
Usually the can of worms gets opened with the “I’m going to regear so I may as well do lockers too”, or the “if you’re going to regear a D30 and go wheel it, you’re just going to break things”, or the “there’s no sense putting any money into a D30”.
It sounds like you have a very simple situation though and just want a little better performance following some mods, with no real intention of growing further. The bit of money over the ownership of the jeep will keep you happy.

Resharp nailed it, sounds like you’re okay regearing your axles. Just to touch up on re-programming, if you’re talking about a tuner then I’d stay far away. If you’re just talking about telling the vehicles electronics that your tire size and gears are different then you must do that. As far as tuners go, I think they’re not safe since they essentially lean out and adjust your fuel mapping. Vehicle manufacturers make engines run a tad on the rich side to keep things cool and make the engine last longer. By leaning the fuel/air ratio out you’re making the cylinders run hotter and reducing the life of the engine. Many people argue that it’s safe while I’m on the side of many other people that say it’s not.
Have you called around to check on regear costs in your area? Quite a few folks from the east coast have reported rates up around 3 grand, instead of the $1500ish you might see in other parts of the country.
If that turns out to be the case for you, another option may be to keep your eyes open for a set of take-off axles from someone who went aftermarket. 3.73 would be a decent upgrade, and the axle swap is pretty straight forward. And who knows, you might luck into a cheap set of rubi take-offs (that could have either 3.73 or 4.10, depending), as well as the other upgrades that go with them. Just a suggestion to check into your options.

That price is in line for our area.. I to am going with 4.11s replacing 3.21s and my total cost of gear sets and labor will be very close to that number. Mine is 6spd..I used Jscan to change the tire size (35s), and also TPMS lower to 28psi. When you get the 33s on do the CHALK TEST to get the air pressure set best for wear & ride - 99% DD not into all the rocks at the N.E. ORPs.

3.5" lift
33"'s
I find it runs fine
Speedo off by 7mph but no biggie
Maybe 6th is a dog uphills but fine on the highway.
