I don't know the price of the MOPAR stuff but it sounds expensive for OEM. I always upgrade to stronger and better if I'm going to replace something. That way you won't have to worry about your DriveLine warranty.

I guess the bigger question is are you lifting, bigger tires, or just gearing to 4.10? You will get better answers than mine if we all know your goal.

Well if warranty is the key indicator than you really have no choice. They cannot however just void your warranty if you put in a different brand of gears except on the gears themselves. It could get sticky if something around them breaks. But, they cannot tell you that they won't warranty your drive shaft, because you used after market gears.

When you install the aftermarket gears you are covered by the gear manufacturer. Also get someone who has a close relationship with the manufacturer to install them like mel at off road evelution. He is close with seperior axle so if something goes wrong your covered. Who needs crysler and the bull they give you if you have a issue will you drive train.

Damn, you must have had all Big Jeeps.

All the CJ, YJ and TJ's I've driven have had LESS power than the JK I just got.

You DID get the V8 option at least, didn't you?

If it is Automatic I would say 3.73 unless you have a hitch then 4.10.

An 08 has 3.73 with auto with or withoout hitch.

Default Regear

I talked to Eddie about this several months ago when ordering my build up pieces, and then I talked to the dealer as well. Bottom line is, JEEP has to prove cause/effect of the modification/problem. So they can't refuse to fix your A/C because you regear, but the dealer was very iffy on drivetrain coverage. My decision concluded when I actually drove a 3.2 with 35's......absolutely undriveable.....I'll take my chances!!!
