Default Reliable Locker Recomendation??

So I've been considering getting lockers for my 2007 Unlimited X..... selectable units are the chosen design as the Jeep is a daily driver and we live with snow here in the northeast. I have reviewed the multiple electronic, mechanical and air activated options. I am challenged in making a decision. My issue is that failure appears routine in every option I have reviewed.

A google search for "jk locker problems" results in thousands of hits.... everything from misaligned cables, to bad seals, burned out solenoids, compressor failures, mechanical failures, electrical issues, flashing lights, jacking up to confirm locked/unlocked, etc...Honestly this is bullshit considering the investment required.

Breaking stuff is inherent with the hobby..... but many of the locker issues seem to occur right out of the box, or without heavy use or abuse. As you know the install process is complex and the cost of this modification is significant.
I would never accept an engine, transmission, or transfer case with issues as common.......and all of these are much more complex than a locker.....and close to the same cost category! Can anyone recommend a rock solid, highly reliable, selectable system, or is this just a pipe dream?

Arb air lockers are the least likely to fail.

Default ARB is the place to be

have had a rear locker for over 2 years....probably used it 20+ times....no problems whatsoever.....*knocking on wood*... when the funds work themselves out...will be getting the front locked with ARB as well...

TrueTracs. End of discussion...

Post 8 has a good blurb on the strength of this unit.

And this one has a good overview, if you haven't browsed it yet.

Why do you "must" the selectable and be left with a weak link? I chose mechanical/non-selectable, it is a bit slow in town when I'm taking off and have to turn at the same time, but its fine. It does take some getting used to, but its actually pretty cool knowing you're always locked and 'ready'.
I was a little worried about icy roads until I hit them, non-issue! I thought this thing would be a nightmare on ice, but its actually very good...and snow, well, that's where this thing shines!!
It does take some getting used to for a few miles, but well worth it. All you have to watch for is tight (and not so tight) turns, take your foot off the throttle and it'll just go around normal. If cars behind you get annoyed by it, they can always wait! lol i would do it all over again, its a truck, and now feels like one! Get it done and don't look back, you'll be fine.
