Default removing front hub assembly to remove axle shaft

looking for some ideas to save me from having to go rent a hub puller.

trying to remove my front axle shafts. the brakes are off, 3- 13mm 12pt bolts are out, 36mm axle nut is off. the hub assembly will not come off. been smacking it with a DBH, but afraid to hit it any harder to not damage the bearing. tried to get a pry bar in between.

what else can i try? thanks.

When you say brakes... You mean the whole caliber, right?

So you did that, you removed the 3 bolts attaching the rotor to the knuckle. You removed the axle nut... That should be it.

You are pulling on the rotor, right? The the knuckle will stay, just FYI.

Mine just came right out, after removing those previously mentioned bolts. Not even a hammer or pry bar needed.

Use a small pry bar at the seam and hammer on that. I know space is limited on the back side of the hub, but you may also be able to partially reinstall the 13mm bolts and hammer on them.

I just checked this out, this is a way better solution than mine. Gotta love an idea that uses the steering system as a press. I couldn't get the address to work this one worked for me.

thanks for the replies. before i had a chance to re-check the board, i went back outside and managed to wedge a flat head screw driver between the hub assembly and knuckle. was a PIA, but i got it. rest was a cake walk.
