Default Removing Powder Coat?

I want to strip the black powder coat on of my XRC fender flares so i can paint them white to match my JK body.

Any recommendations on removing powder coat outside of grinding it off? Would a heavy duty paint stripper work on powder coat?

Thanks for the help.

Best bet is to get a belt or wheel sander and go to town on it.

You could take it somewhere and have it sandblasted. Don't know what they charge for that though

Sweet, I'll see if I can pickup some of that locally at one of the auto stores. Seems really easy.

MEK is nasty but should do the trick. Other than that I would say sandblasting.

Local powdercoating shops around here charge about $30-80 to sandblast something. I don't have a garage, so I would have to pay someone. It may save you couple hours if you call a local metal shop.

This doesnt really answer your question but a guy on here is selling a set of XRC flares painted white. Maybe you can buy those and sell yours.
