Default Removing stock bumper

For the many who have done this themselves already, what tools and methods did you use to take off the 8 bolts holding the stock bumper to the frame. I'm not worried about the plastic part, because i've been running with that off. Thanks in advance for the info.

I don't remember it being that hard. Take off the air dam first and then used a socket With extension to take out the bolts.

It's not hard to remove, just unbolt it. A 3/8's air ratchet is good. If not , good ole hand tools work fine.

It's fairly easy, but one of my 8 bolts just wouldn't budge, so we sliced it off. The install of the new stubby was quicker than removing the old one

Thanks for the info guys. I have just read some people saying that it was a BIt$% to get off, so I was wondering about extensions or the universal joint sockets. Thanks for all the help

I find that a LOT of what is a B!**H to get off are things that have never been wrenched on before. That's the biggest headache I run into.

However, 18mm it is, you got the nail on the head on that one. A deep well works really good with a nice breaker bar, and then I used an electric impact wrench after that to spin the nuts the rest of the way off, that way I didn't have to sit there forever going turn by turn with a socket wrench. It was STILL a chore though, lol.

And like you, I didn't have anything up front but the metal, as well. That did make for easy access though!

Good luck to you...post some pics once she's all bolted back up!
