I'm leaning towards one of two things:

#1. Custom tube fenders, mounted to the frame. I want to be able to lean my Jeep on the fenders if they're gonna be wide.

#2. Some sort of very flexible or remove-able fender extension. Maybe lawn edging, or something like the "Trailmods" removable fenders....when (if?) they become available.

i seen these in Moab, Good Idea, but it looked horrible.

They're Jeep fenders. They're supposed to be ugly

I find that the flat fenders give the JK a "Dumbo" look from the front. The JK looks like its about to fly away. The only thing that could make it look worse would be to connect a shop vac hose to the front bumper and stick a feather on the end

Actually... I should do this and I could name my JK "lil Dumbo" haha (in no way a slight to WOL's lil' nemo).

I checked out that link to the Australian fender manufacturer. They don't look all that bad. Might be an option, but I think for now I'm just gonna deal with the road grime, slush and ice until the spring when I bed line my hinges.

Hey buddy, I was noticing the same problem last year when i put the bigger tires on. My door hinges were getting torn p and the side of my jeep looked like A$$ all the time. I went and bought a set of the Jeep front mudflaps and they have been working out great. The extend about 1" further out where it counts and come down to protect the side of your jeep. I dont really know how well it works for protecting others but you cant please everyone so as long as I am happy...

Also they are quite flexible and can handle major trail abuse without any problems. I think dodge charged mt 40 bucks for the front set and it took me 1/2 hour to install them. They look factory.

Hey you know what they don't look half bad. I think that will be a great idea. Cause as much as I try I just can't shake how "off" the bushwacker pocket fenders look. I think its the "riveted" look they have that doesn't match up to anything else on the body.

I'm gonna look into these tomorrow.

Thanks!

looks like i am a few days late with the pics but here is 33s with wide xenons. i still get spray up the side of the jeep but the angle is less.... i personally dont think there is any fender solution that will prevent spray up with tires 12.50 or wider for the jk.

What did you decide? I have a Sunburst Orange also. I bought these and I don't do any extreme off road (just some mud and snow) so mine are at the paint shop being painted to match.

I just deal with it. my 11.50 duratracs spray the side big time. My locks have a permanent salt coating that I cannot seem to buff off for the love of god.
