Replacing factory diff covers...
I really think I should replace the own diff covers, from what I have read they are fairly delicate compared to the aftermarket ones...
My dumb question is how good are the mopar news that the jeep dealer sells?
The reason I'm thinking of doing that is to preserve my warranty, I figure if they come from them and they install them they can't complain like they could if I got some other brand where they might have legitimate gripes
Des this make sense?

If you really wheel, and scrape the axles, I doubt they'll cover much on your axles anyway. The other stuff not affected should still be covered. They would have to prove what you did voids the warranty.
I know dealers like to deny coverage, but there are laws on your side.

If the dealer wanted to be a real dick they could void your warranty if you put the wrong wiper fluid in! I bet they'll charge you a fortune to put diff covers and new fluid on. Look at what they charge for just changing the diff fluids.
Do u need to change diff covers? Dunno-do you wheel pretty aggressively? Not just fire trails but rock and rock gardens? If yes then maybe/probably. But you can do em yourself and save a ton of money. There are a bunch of write ups here..
You can get some Solids for reasonably cheap or go all the way up to some sexy ARBs. Or find something in the middle. Need some lubelockers or RTV and a few bottles of oil. Northridge usually has some package deal on covers and lubelockers. Give them a call.

I like the looks of the D44-XJB and D30-XJB aluminum covers.
Very thick. Reinforcing/cooling fins. I like the separate fill and overflow holes. The drain isn't needed because there is already a drain plug in the housing (with a magnet to collected metal particles).

They shouldn't give you any crap for diff covers unless you somehow don't add oil and blow your gears. If your looking for solid covers and a good price,

I wouldn't buy aluminum diff covers.

I found some mopar ones that looked nice but they were like $135 a piece, I'd normally get third party,n but my dealer is really cool about my mods so far and I think I'd get less crap if they are mopar ones that they install
They are called the steel cross and they are made of 1/4 steel
I'll call them Monday and see how much the install would be for the mopar ones
