Default Replacing Pro Comp A/T 285/70R 17

It is time to replace my Pro Comp A/T 285 70R 17 tires on my 2016 Unlimited Rubicon Hardrock, RK 1.5 lift.. While they have performed fairly well for my use ( daily driver, NFS roads, and moderate trails in Moab and Ouray a couple of weeks a year). What I would like to find is a tire that will meet my needs but give a softer ride on the highway and balance well (Pro Comps are load range D). I do not need a very aggressive tread as I almost never do mud or snow. Thanks

I'd suggest the Nitto Terra Grappler or Toyo AT. If you want to go slightly more aggressive, I'd suggest the Nitto Ridge Grappler or Toyo RT. Both are a hybrid AT/MT tire.

I have the NRG's on mine and Toyo RT's on my daughter's. I have driven both and give a slight edge to the NRG's but both are smoother than the stock GY. My NRG's are the same size as you are replacing in the SL and weigh in less too which was important to me as it is 99.5% DD.

Also got a good forum disc from Discount Tire Direct. Good luck

I haven't checked recently but I believe it's Kumho or Firestone that makes a larger tire in a load range C. You may have to go with the P sizes vs the LT to get away from the stiffer sidewall.
