Replacing with Rubicon Shocks
I have an 08 JKU X and saw some Rubicon shocks and springs for sale. Are they worth purchasing and replacing my stock shocks now? They have about 9K Miles on them. I will have a RC 2.5" BB coming soon with shock adapters. Help me decide if they would be worth purchasing.

A bunch of info on stock coils
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/stoc...uestion-85825/
I haven't bothered to follow these threads on stock coils, but my guess is that since you have a 4door, you aren't going to see more lift out of rubicon coils. (the previous poster has a 2door, and put on 4door coils to get that 2" lift?)
Many people have said the shocks that come on rubicons are better, but since you are adding a lift also, why not just buy new shocks that are long enough for the new height?

My '13 JKU Sport S had 17's in the front and 59's in the back. I put 18's from a '13 JKUR and a 1" puck and gained 2" up front. I did put the JKUR shocks on all the way around and a .75" spacer in the back to get me leveled out. The JKUR components had about 9,000 miles on them while my JKU had about 6,000 miles on it. The JKUR shocks do feel a bit stiffer than the stock Sport versions, but that's ok with me personally. It was a good $100 investment, I'm very happy with the setup and it was super easy to do myself. I had a couple hours into the job and it is my first Jeep. YouTube has plenty of videos to help if you are a first timer like I was.
I'm not getting the rubicons' suspension for any extra height really. I just want to change out the current suspension now since I got 80K on them. Getting new shocks are possible, but the budget just took a hit from the new tires and wheels. Would it be a smarter idea to wait for new shocks or replace my current shocks now with the rubicon?
Exactly. And springs are good for 150-200K easy, maybe never wear out depending on conditions. If you weren't doing the BB I would say go for it. But with the BB there is really no reason to. But it is your Jeep.

rubicon shocks are really firm and stiff. You will improve handling performance but when hitting bumps it will be noticeably harsher. I had the sport shocks too and replaced them with rubicons after the sports were worn out. It was better but I still hated it.
If I were you i would look for some rancho 9000xls (with rebate) or some OME. These are your best bet to get closer to a better ride IMHO.

I sold my Rubi shocks for 50 bucks with less than 800 miles on them. They're really not worth much. I don't know what you are planning on paying for them if you do decide to buy. And there's no such thing as Rubi springs, except maybe the 10A anniversary ones. Springs are springs...compare the numbers on yours to the numbers on the ones for sale. Expect a .25" lift per number or there abouts. 2 doors maybe a little more, 4 doors maybe a little less. Good luck.
