Default Resonator delete

I'm sorta interested in a resonator delete for my magnaflow dual exhaust to become a little louder.

Wanted some insight from some forum members - is it going to get me pulled over more

If anyone has gotten a res delete and can share their experience and insight that would be awesome too

I deleted mine and replaced it with dynomax muffler, it's a little louder but not obnoxious and I've never had any issues. Also i altered my exhaust so that it dumps in front of the rear axle which is illegal everywhere, just so you know.

Hi Jon, if you were looking for a bit more sound, we would recommend replacing your factory resonator with a smaller aftermarket unit. Deleting the resonator completely can introduce some interior drone. Please let us know if you have any other questions we can help with!

If you remove the factory resonator, it will be loud and definitely drone. Like Magnaflow said, a smaller aftermarket resonator will allow a good sound without the drone.

Interesting that the 3.6 requires a resonator while the 3.8L does not.

It doesn't require one. I'm not running on on my '15.

I replaced the res with a flowmaster 50 series and left the rest of the exhaust in place dumping after the axle. Sounds great without being obnoxious or having a drone.

I've run the Flowmaster Super44 under the floor and totally removed the big rear muffler. Sounds nice and no real drone. Today I changed it out for the Pypes high tuck SS exhaust... very nice sound.

I'm looking to do something similar on my 16 wrangler. I want to remove resonator put a inline muffler in its place and delete the rear muffler. Just curious if the location of the muffler makes any difference??
