Resonator delete, straight pipe
Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on removing resonators and running straight pipe either side exit or just in front of rear axle. Also has anybody ran true duals? Pictures of any of these combinations would be greatly appreciated.

I heard that it creates the dreaded drone sound.

Oh? I just want my jeep to be louder :)

You need the back pressure. Just slap on a dynomax where your giant can lives.

I bought the Gibson metal mulisha dual exhaust muffler and wasn't overly impressed. Looked good for the first couple weeks and then the black ceramic started rusting. Can you remove resonator and run say a dynomax muffler and still have adequate back pressure?

I thought the Gibson was SS? |
The muffler itself may be stainless but the tips that come with it is black ceramic

Also has anyone ran a muffler under the drivers seat? Any issues with fumes if you turn the pipe down?

I tried this, removed the resonator and rear muffler and installed a flowmaster to dump before the rear axle. My jeep sounded like a civic. Needless to say, i put it back to stock the next day.

If you have your drain plugs out, you will most definitely get exhaust in. If you insist on making it as short as possible, turn it out. Still under the driver seat means it will turn out right by your door. Modern engines are made to have a certain backpressure. Reducing this to make it louder will decrease efficiency and performance. |
