Default Resonator delete, straight pipe

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on removing resonators and running straight pipe either side exit or just in front of rear axle. Also has anybody ran true duals? Pictures of any of these combinations would be greatly appreciated.

You need the back pressure. Just slap on a dynomax where your giant can lives.

I bought the Gibson metal mulisha dual exhaust muffler and wasn't overly impressed. Looked good for the first couple weeks and then the black ceramic started rusting. Can you remove resonator and run say a dynomax muffler and still have adequate back pressure?

I would think so. It looks like most of the full kits either relocate the muffler to that location or remove it and keep the muffler in the back.

I thought the Gibson was SS?

The muffler itself may be stainless but the tips that come with it is black ceramic

Also has anyone ran a muffler under the drivers seat? Any issues with fumes if you turn the pipe down?

I tried this, removed the resonator and rear muffler and installed a flowmaster to dump before the rear axle. My jeep sounded like a civic. Needless to say, i put it back to stock the next day.

Turning down under the vehicle traps exhaust underneath, especially when stationary/low speed. This will build up and spill out, possibly into the interior. If your top is on it will trap inside as the top is not airtight. Even turned down: Heat rises.

If you have your drain plugs out, you will most definitely get exhaust in.

If you insist on making it as short as possible, turn it out. Still under the driver seat means it will turn out right by your door.

Modern engines are made to have a certain backpressure. Reducing this to make it louder will decrease efficiency and performance.
