Default Resonator removal

Has anyone removes their resonator and just run a performance muffler.
I have a dynomax on my 2012 and was wondering how it would sound if i removed the resonator.

1. I dont wont to have any drone
2. Does it help with performance
3. Does it make it louder with my exhaust.

I Took mine off and have a flowmaster super 44. The tone is definitely different with it off and IMO, a little better sounding. Gives it a little more low end and some more growl/ rumble. However it is definitely a little louder, but the 44 has a lot of drone either way. There's actually less drone with No muffler no resonator vs no resonator and super 44. Lol def louder, but less drone inside. If its a small muffler, just take the resonator pipe off, clamp the dynomax on under driver seat, and dump before axel. Take maybe 15 min to bolt stock back on for inspection .

If you don't mind a little extra noise, I say definitely take it off you won't be disappointed. Only reason I'm putting mine on is I paid $1300 for my sound system so I don't want to have to battle a drone lol

Btw from what I hear dynomax has minimal drone, so don't be scared of my drone experience. Super 44 isn't shy. Yours probably wouldn't be too bad. Give it a try, don't have to cut anything so it's not permanent. Clamp it on and see how it sounds. It helps a LOT to take the 4 bolts off and remove the skid plate to remove resonator FYI

Yea really no drone on the dynomax. No skid plate in the way on the 2012 to get to resonator either. I think i will be taking it off.

I have a 2012 also, it's not necessarily covering the resonator, but removing the skid gives you a little more room to work. It can be a pain to slide the pipe out with it on

Exhaust dump before the axle should not be an issue with TN inspection. 96 and newer vehicles get a computer and gas cap diagnostic done. They do not perform the traditional tail pipe probe test that required it to be within elbows reach. I have the Dynomax evolution 39516 ordered for mine.
