Reverse stall
Anyone on here experience stalling in reverse after Jeep sits overnight? I have browsed the web and seen a few convos about it. Appears to be torque converter issue. I’m out of warranty and have had it happen a few times over the winter. Not sure what the options are. Hmmmm🤔

not in forward gears yet. Just revers first cold shift of day. The world wide interwebs suggest TC. But maybe I’ll try a flush and refill with good oil. Have you experienced this? And did it fix? I’m at 70k on a 16 JkU so def out of warranty.
No my auto is an 8 speed Chev behind a Chev. But my 2016 tranny was notorious for TC clutch chatter in the host vehicle it was in and with Amsoil in there it does not play up at all in 9000miles so far. But you should try to go straight to a forward gear first shift in the morning. Of course you should not be reminded that you should not drive through the garage wall. To help with this back er in in the evening before. Reverse or forward the TC still rotates the same direction.
Mine bogs down reeeeeeal bad in the morning when I start it and then back it up as the first shift when it is cold out during the winter. It's not quiet as bad when it is warmer weather. It doesn't seem to matter it I remote start it and try to let it warm up either. It does not do it any other time during the day after that first initial back up after starting. Once you do that it is fine the rest of the day. What is the warrantee on a Jeep? I can't remember and I am not sure if the Jeep dealer would take care of it either with my lift on it. I guess it is something I will have to enquire about and do before going to 37's for sure.

ha ha. I don’t get garage space. The wife’s car takes half. The bicycles, motorcycle and golf cart take the other half. So I’ve pulled in and backed in to the driveway. Only binds up in reverse. Or at least not noticeable in drive...🤷♂️

I would look into the program for cold idle. Could even be a temp sensor not providing the right signal to ECU and engine thinks it is warmer than it is so that would equate to less idle throttle on the TB. In my HPTuners VCM Editor I can see the setup for idle speed vs ECT (engine coolant temp) which requires the signal to be accurate from the sensor. And then I can see progress on the ECT scale on VCM Scanner. Take a look at the ECT on your display in the morning and try and measure what the coolant is with a good old mercury thermometer.

If you have the Jscan app and an OBDII adapter you may be able to see and possibly modify that. I honestly don't know for sure because I am out of town working and only have my work truck with me. My Jeep is back home a few hundred miles away. Worst part about that is, I'm less than 30 miles away from Rausch Creek. Grrrrrrrr.
