Last night I tried to rev my engine (just to hear the exhaust) but it would not. the tac went to about 2 - 3k but then would bog down.
Is this something in the programming? She runs fine while driving down the road.

 

Mine will only rev to 4,000 RPM, i thought it was odd as well, must be a safety feature

 

if its cold and i just started mine it wont even rev over 2k before it bogs. must be a safety feature

 

yes it is computer controlled

There is a computer controlled rev limiter when you are not in gear. I believe it's 2.5-3k rpm on all Chrysler vehicles. Same thing happened in my commander and charger.

 

yeah its the rev limiter i have a 6 speed and i was accidentally holding the pedal down while parked and in neutral but my music was so loud i couldn't hear my mini-van motor revving till i noticed the needle was on about 6000 rpms..im glad for the limiter or else i probably would have killed my motor.
