Revising the suspension 2 1/2" lift
Purchased at 24k mi with offset 33" x 18" x 12 1/2" and spacer lift, had Atlas bumpers and side steps-I was smitten! Still am. At first I bought KYB 2 1/2" longer front stock rear shocks and rotated tires. I now have RC 2 1/2" spring kit, 2021 JL wheels (JK lugs) 17" w/285 KO2 new Jeep stuff. I have experienced the "Death Wobble" 3 times wife once-not cool. Now have RC sway bar links coming front discon., Mammoth sleeve adjustable track bar (planning to use 9/16 " hardware), RC rear track bar mount and RC 1" rear spacer because with my additional weight I don't like the way it sits. Pypes High Clearance exhaust installed. Alignment scheduled March 1st JS way too close! I am hoping this small increase in lift with increase in weight is not enough of an issue to require adjustable length control arms. 30k miles now, 3 of us have looked at the parts and it sure looks good for having the issue.
I'm not quite clear here.....are the changes in hopes of removing the DW, or has that been fixed.....cuz these changes are NOT going to change the DW if that is the case. Have you tested your ball joints? This didn't necessarily look like a DW help thread, but that would be the #1 priority for me.
Also please remember that when one offsets the CL of the wheel out further from the pivot line measured through the ball joints one exacerbates any death wobble symptoms. Try something here - take the spacers off and go for a drive. I know it won't turn as well but you maysee what I am trying to say. Son went from stock 32s to M/T 35s and got 4.5" back spacing wheels and same thing happened from one day to next - death wobble showed up. This is one of the reasons why guys spend a lot of money on wider diffs for wider tires and keep the stock wheel center lines as what was on the diffs from the factory - plus other reasons. Try setting your toe to zero as this was mentioned on the Modern Jeeper Show podcast #203.
