Default Riddler D44 diff cover install question

So I got front and back Riddler D44 diff covers from Northridge and the fill hole is way above the factory. Now the Solid write up on project-jk says "2 quarts of SAE 75W-90 synthetic gear oil. DO NOT be tempted to fill up your differential with anymore gear oil or else it will get pumped out of the breather tube and make a big stinking mess."

I replaced the front today and the rear will get done tomorrow.

So I put in 2 quarts up front. Now other write ups say 1.5 in the front 2.5 in the rear. I suspect that 1.5 is for D30 front ends, but what is the real measurement of the rear? 2 quarts like the front or 2.5?

I stuck my pinky finger in the front hole all the way in and it came out wet, but I'm thinking it's full to the bottom axle line and maybe a little over. Why would the rear be more than the front D44?

Any help is appreciated.

In the rear axle, there has to be enough oil to go out to the axle shaft bearings on the wheel end.
In the front diff, the oil doesn't go beyond the seals just outside of the carrier bearings.
Make a dip stick and make sure the oil level is a little above the bottom of the axle tube, front and rear axles.

So the capacity is the same, but you just need more in the rear. Well that makes sense.
