Ride comfort
Hey everyone just wondering if there's anyway to improve the roll around effect with wranglers not a massive issue but if there's a quick and easy fix that anyone knows of I'd love to hear it
What is your current set up, That might help us understand what is going on with your suspension
That was my question last year, after the wife and I bounced our heads off the roll bars a few times.
After some experience and some research, I figured out the worst tossing happened when the stock shocks got hot and the stock springs compressed uncontrolled until the suspension hit the stock bump stops.
First I added more suspension travel with 2.5" longer springs and shocks (AKA a 2.5" lift). This gave me about 2" more travel at the wheels. Because I was going for the best ride, I chose a lift kit with progressive springs and Bilstein shocks.
Next, I added Tereflex Speedbumps so the suspension would not land on those little rubber bump stop turds from the factory.
To complete the setup (for now) I added an adjustable front track bar, sway bar disconnects, 1.5" wheel spacers, and geometry brackets. The spacers made the stance as much wider as it is taller so its even more stable than stock. The brackets add to a good ride and make the steering less flighty. The track bar satisfied my preference for a centered front axle. The discos let the axles track over the bumps without throwing the Jeep around as much.
All these mods give the Jeep more ability on the trail, which is great, but for us the big reward was ride and handling. Every time we go out we're amazed how much difference the suspension mods make to our enjoyment on the trail. Doesn't hurt that we have more ground clearance and flex as well.
