Default Ride Quality on MTRs

I recently put a set of GY MTRs w/kevlar on my UR. I hadn't installed the lift yet. I could feel the strips in the road more and thought the bumps seemed a little harsher. I was warned about that from a shop that pushed Mickey Thompson MTs. He claimed the kevlar gives a rougher ride. I tend to believe him now. I was running 28#s but noticed that the outer part of the tread wasn/t hitting the road. I'm at 26#s now. After the 3" OME lift, the strips and bumps are a little more than brfore. I attribute that to the angle of the front lower arms as opposed to stock. Like any other lift on short arms. I went through the same thing with my ZJ until I went to long arms. Now, it rides better than my new Rubi. Do long arms work on a JK with only a 3" lift?? I don't want to go higher, but like the smoother ride of long arms.

I'm running the MT/Rs with kevlar on a OME 2" lift. The first day or two I could feel the tread on the pavement. Now i don't anymore. I absolutely LOVE the ride and don't find it rough at all, but I imagine this is a very subjective measure. I don't find them loud either, but that's probably because of my new quad tip exhaust...

They are a load range D. The stock 32" BFG KMs are a C, so I guess the D rating and the Kevlar makes the difference.

Rock Krawler makes a 3.5" long arm lift. Really beefy and a great ride.
