Ried racing knuckles and synergy draglink
So I have ried racing knuckles and it has had a Teraflex draglink installed by a local shop about 2 years ago. So I decided to go with a synergy draglink instead. I get it torn down and notice the shop that installed the knuckles drilled the f-n already tapered hole to add a sleeve to install their draglink. Now when I go to put the synergy draglink there isn't enough threads to use the castle nut and pin.
So I'm trying to figure out how to make it safely work. Do I just go get a lock nut like the one that came on the Teraflex draglink or do I countersink the tapered sleeve into the knuckle to get the pin to thread into the castle nut?

1. You can file down the channels on the lock nut so you can insert the cotter pin
2. You can get a 7/8 bit or a step bit and take a little material out of the hole so the tapered sleeve will wallow out a bit and allow the tie rod end to sit deeper.
3. You could see about getting a different tapered insert that has a wider opening. Ruff-stuff sells one. The one they sell is likely the same as the one you have, though....
I'd go with option two.
I think that the knuckle is a little thicker and adding he sleeve just makes it that much thicker and that's what sounds like the issue is. Is that it OP? Or is it not seating all the way down?

The knuckle is thicker. Everything is seated and tight. The thickness of the ried knuckle and the sleeve is to much that the cotter pin for the castle nut won't go in. Teraflex has a different lock nut that worked. I'm starting to think I might indeed need to get a new knuckle. Just to much meat on it now. Any other suggestions?
