Ok is this the track bar first off & second are the 2 pivots supposed to be slanted like that. Also I was getting a popping sound when turning my steering wheel today it sounds like its coming from the steering linkage any idea what this could be.

That's the drag link. It's supposed to be able to pivot like that. You can grab it and twist it bact to straight.

As long as there is no vertical play in the joints, they are good.

Ok so the track bar is the one from tire to tire & the drag link doesn't have any versicle play I was just making sure that wasn't wrong. Now to find the phantom pop.

The tie rod goes from tire to tire.
The track bar goes from the frame to the axle.

Does the steering shift with the pop? Movement of the trackbar would shift the axel to one side or the other and the steering wheel center would move.

No as I was backing out it popped then I was looking for it & made the girlfriend turn the wheel & it would just sound like it was catching on something & popping off no steering shift. It was real smooth all through the turn
