Default Rim tire question

Ive searched the forums, but no solid answer was found. So here is my question. I have an 08 Rubi Unlimited, with a OME HD lift. I plan on buying Kumho Road Venture MT KL71 LT315/70 R17 on 17" Black Rock Type D Rims (black steelies). Now they offer the rims in 17x8 and 17x9, the BS for the 8 is 4.5" and the 9 is 5". So which rim would be better for no rubbing or would I have to get spacers anyway? Thanks in advance.

The 315's are essentially like 12.5 section width tires, so 4.5" of BS would be preferred to avoid rub.

For your above scenario, between the two choices, the 17 x 8 rim with 4.5" of BS would be best.

I run 315/75/16 Kuhmo ATs on 16x8 black rock rims with 4.25" BS with no rubbing problems, on an OME HD lift.

I know you have 17's, but you should have no problems without spacers. I would stay with 17x8 rims as noted above.

+1 Also when you wheel it will give you a bit more sidewall so you don't slip a bead.
