Default rims in the winter

hey all. i've never had aftermarket rims on any of my vehicles and was wondering if anyone that lives in a climate where u get snow and is running alloy/polished/chrome rims swaps their rims in the winter? or can the a/market rims hold up to road snow/road salt etc? thanks! the reason i'm asking is i want to change out my tires/rims for a/market rims and larger tires, but will be dumping my stocks in the process to offset the xpense somewhat, so i won't have a set to swap in the winter.

you should be fine, BUT don't think you are going to offset much by selling your stocks. they fetch pennies on the dollar.

thanks gajeep, i understand that i won't get much. i did however post my wheels locally and already had offers much higher than i see people selling stockies for. i'm just looking to recoup something rather than nothing (25% is better than 0% in any case). so no issues w/finish on the rims when exposed to snow/salt all that?

I kept my stock wheels and tires to use in the winter. Salt on our roads corrodes the aluminum wheels bad here. Keep my alloys nice for the summer months and I will go a lot longer before I need to buy any tires.

Painted wheels or plain steel should be fine. In salty areas chrome comes off flakey.

I bought the powder coated pro-comp 8179s. I think that I should be fine, even though they have a polished lip?
