Default Ripp instead of gears with 37's?

As I consider going bigger (37's), I had an idea today that I wanted to get some thoughts on. So, when moving up to 37's, new gears generally come along with those. But I am planning on putting a Ripp Supercharger in anyway, so could I do that instead of new gears? What would the pros and cons be to this?

Obviously I know this would not be the economical route but I am planning on spending the money on the Ripp anyway...

I have another brand of SC, but with 35s, 4.10s and a 4 speed auto...yeah, I need gears. PLENTY of power, but I can't hold 4th (overdrive) on the highway.

Gears first. Supercharger second. You'll want both on the highway.

No matter how much power the RIPP is supposed to give, it needs to be able to turn the tires and get up to RPM in order to get that power. I would not recommend skipping out on gears and getting the supercharger alone. I went from 3.73 with a 6 speed in my '11 to 4.88 running 35's and that alone woke the Jeep up considerably. Regained 6th gear and it has the power that it did when it was stock. I added the RIPP after my regear and it made it a monster. If I had stuck with the 3.73 gears I would have had an expensive engine mod that could not reach its full potential. Went with 4.88 instead of 4.56 since I plan on moving up to 37s when my 35s are done. Love the setup I have now. Hope this helps out

Re-Gear first, ESPECIALLY when in an AUTO, otherwise you will be putting ALOT of strain on it.

RIPP

Yes, that's rare and respectable.

Sorry for the hijack, but as i'm about to regear and keep hearing 4.88, you suggest 4.56 for someone with a 2011 6speed with 35' tires that will never go bigger?

Thanks

Don't know if you already made up your mind on this. I have a '12 with the RIPP s/c and am running 35's but am looking for 37 or 38's now. I just regeared to 4.88's. If you're staying with 35's do the 4.56, you don't need to go all the way to 4.88, i only did it b/c I knew I was going to 37.

Hope that helps.

Ripps great btw.
