Default Ripp low boost reading with headers?

I've had a Ripp SC and Headers installed for about a year maybe. I did both installs myself.

I only get max readings of around 3.5 PSI from the ECU and only around 2 PSI with a manual boost gauge. This is at WOT around 5k rpm in any gear.

I have always assumed this is because I have their headers also, and with less restriction down stream, I would see less of a boost reading upstream.

Is this correct logic? 2 PSI seems very low for the high altitude kit.

I have always been kinda "meh" on the performance, but always thought my expectations were just too high.

Thanks.

That's not exactly how this works. You could run with no manifolds just exhaust straight out of the heads and it should not affect boost #'s. You have something else going on. What kind of boost is it supposed to make?

Thanks for the replies! I did make a homemade boost leak tester the other day with PVC pipe, atv gasket and a tire valve.

I ran my air compressor at around 12 psi, and the pressure would hold while I held down the gun. Whenever I would let go, it would quickly bleed out. However the only place I could detect leakage was the elbow joint before the compressor.

That joint is not supposed to be air tight, so I'm fairly confident I don't have a boost leak.

I have checked the inter cooler for any retained shop towels before.

I have sprayed the engine down with starter fluid before and not detected a vacuum leak either. I don't have access to a smoke machine for a more robust test.

The ECU reads a max of maybe -12 vacuum which seems low to me?

2psi is VERY wrong! Headers or not!!

We would suspect a boost leak. Please recheck the install guide. also check all clamps, silicone elbow's that they are tight and that there are no tears anywhere.

Is the boost gauge also read vacuum? If so, what are you seeing at idle in vacuum? Have you taken a data log with the included Diablosport? If not, please do so while replicating the WOT pass, then, Email that file along with files "last Tune Written" and "Original Backup File" to ripptuning@gmail.com make sure to include a brief description of the problem encountered.

check your BOV i had a similar issue and it was the BOV ( blow off value ) once replaced back up to 8-10 psi boost and -19 or so vacuum at
idle .

What did you end up determining with this?

So I did check a few things.
-The BOV is holding vacuum appropriately.
-The engine vacuum at idle is around -22-24 psi or so. I think this is normal, so I would assume no vacuum leaks
-I made a homemade boost leak tester with PVC pipe and I do not think there is a boost leak.
-I have checked all the plumbing and didn't find any retained shop towels or debris.

I'm really not sure.
