Default river raider pros/cons

Anyone have the RR snorkel? I am tooo impatient to wait for ARB. Plus I dunno about plastic. I bang up my plastic pretty hard.

Anyways, want opinions before I think about buying.

Pros and Cons. What do you like/hate. Does it suck up water if you get water over the hood. Thats my main ? ... I won't be going in water that deep anytime soon.... but we all know the what if ... IT CAN HAPPEN. Thats why I am preparing.

We get lots of water, and its really wet here.

During the summer, what would you do with it? Oh, can you put like a carbon filter in it or no? Am I a idot for askin that?

I'll let you know, I have my RR Snorkel next to me right now. But that means it's not on the Jeep yet. Monday morning I'm having it installed and then I can tell you before/after opinions. I am willing to bet I am going to be insanly happy about it.

Just recently met the owner and saw his setup on his own Jeep. I liked the metal snorkel and would perfer that over plastic personally. The routing of the hose inside looked clean too. Apparently the competing product routes lower. There is an aluminum battery relocation tray too.

During the summer, what?

Its a cold air intake - with the intake set up high so the air is cooler, cleaner, and of course, dryer.

Think of it that way, and the rest should make sense.

I have no idea why a carbon filter would be on an engine intake...in the summer, or any other time. (You are not confusing this with some sort of thing you're breathing through underwater, are you?)

Some sort of filter goes in the air box to filter out particles, exactly like any other cold air intake....you need a filter, but for dust...carbon is used to filter out organic vapors, etc...not a normal problem.

I'm not buying a snorkel anytime soon, but would like one eventually and have wondered about the RR getting along with a Garvin Winlderness Rack?

I forgot about the summer question I asked ... typical of me though. HAHAH

Uhm ... no I was thinking fish tank filter for some reason. I think I was half asleep when I asked this. But yah, I was wondering the same thing ...

how long was it on order/waiting list? Shipping how long did it take? Etc ...

How easy is it to install ... I am hoping to do rest the mods myself.

New snorkel installed! WoO!

Well, so far I haven't done any REAL testing of it. But initial responses are a slight increase in power, and so far a 2 to 4 mpg gain in gas mileage! After some more time, I'll have a more solid estimate of mpg gain.
