I don't understand how Rock Krawler class there arms as mid arms. It bolts to factory mounts. Thats a short arm in my books.

Thats my point exactly. Its a short arm kit. Where is this word mid arm coming from? " What classes it as a "mid arm" in Rock Krawlers books?

Maybe they are claiming that they are little longer then your normal short arm.

Because a short arm is longer then stock arms ( which are short arms ) so they call it mid arm because its longer then stock obviously..

The Rock Krawler arms are not longer or shorter in particular they are adjustable so you can make them longer or slightly shorter. I have them and run them at the stock length on my 1.5" lift. If you have a full set you can stretch the rear 1".

They are called a mid arm because all JKs even stock are considered mid arms. Compare them to a TJ or XJ short arm and they are a lot longer about 4 inches but not as long as a long arm So you get a mid arm. If you only compare them to a long arm then yes it's a short arm but if you compare them to a short arms they are much longer. Rock krawlers and others use this as a marketing term to make people think it's better like flex joint.

Spot on. The difference in length is pretty big. Also why a 2dr JK can get away with not needing a long arm kit. The "mid arms" already perform admirably, only needing maybe an extra inch or so in some cases. I'm running the RK mids, and I just added an inch to both F/R to regain some of the wheelbase after installing 5 inches of lift. Works perfectly.

Mid arm is a marketing gimmick made up by rock krawler to trick the uninformed into thinking they are getting something they are not. Same with the "upgradeable" lift, flex joints, flex arms. Prey on the ignorant and uninformed. They are not the only company that uses these terms to con people into buying their products.
