Rock Krawler Suspension Question?
I am currently researching suspension lifts for my 2012 JKU. I am leaning toward the AEV Dualsport XT 2.5" with Bilstein 5100's. While I am leaning toward the AEV, I am not completely sold yet. I hear nothing but good things about AEV and the Rock Krawler lifts from the forum and am trying to find the differences between the two companies. So far all I can find is that the Rock Krawler lifts do not appear to come standard with shocks. Is that right or am I missing something? My Jeep is a 75% road 25% trail ride. Any opinions on others quality lifts are welcome.
That is correct you do not get shocks with the rock krawler lift I have the 3.5 X factor I put on myself in the garage 2 weeks ago and am very happy with I also got the 5100 shocks for extra of course but its all about what suites you the rock krawler lift you are going to get what the name says a great lift with a lot of flex to go play on the rocks prob not as good on the road as the other guys but I'm sure some other dudes will chime in for there input
Thank you for concidering RK for your build!
Our systems seem to very popular when it comes to those looking for great highway ride and handling coupled with off-road ability that is off the charts.
If you have any questions regarding one or many of our products that best suits your build, give us a shout. We will be more than happy to talk JK with you!
Good luck with your build no matter what suspension you choose!

I don't know what specific RK kit you are looking at but one of the biggest differences, in general, between AEV and RK is the control arm situation. AEV usually provides drop brackets and RK includes adjustable control arms. If you wheel, especially in rocks, the control arms are a better option.
Yes, RK does not come with shocks but this lets you select the proper shock based on your driving. I like choices.

It's likely that the place you bought yours from packaged them in but you paid for them. The RK kits do not come with shocks for the base price. In general, expect to add $300 to kit price for bilsteins. Worth every penny.
