Default Rock Krawler sway bar links noise

I installed a RK 2.5 max travel kit a little while back and I have been noticing a popping noise when going over bumper or pushing down on my front bumper. Finally isolated the noise to the sway bar links. i have them installed per Rk directions. But in the directions it has no mention of how long they should be, I currently have them at the shortest setting. Is this noise normal or do I have a problem? And if its not normal any ideas on how to resolve it.

That is normal when using the links as a quick disconnect. The heim on the axle should have nylon washers on each side of it to "buffer" the little noise that will come from them. If you are using a Rubi E Disconnect and have our links mounted rigid, you should have absolutely no noise at all unless there is a loose connection or a worn heim.

We do not specify a link dimension for the disconnects/extended links. If you are using them as disconnects, the only thing you need to do is make sure to account for any tolerancing in the sway bar itself and allow the links to slide on and off freely and easily!

Give you us a shout if anyone has any questions!

Called and spoke with chris and he asked me to send him a video. The links will move up and down on the lower bolt on both the driver and passenger front links. He said it souldn't do that since the heim joint is supposed to be the same size as the bolt and there should be no up and down play but there is so I guess I will go home tonight and make a video to prove what is going on. there is enough play in there to where I can hear the noise inside the jeep when going over bumps.

Yeah I would like to see as well. Mine make some good racket when I pull in my driveway or go over bumps slowly.

I will do my best to make a good video I only have a camera phone so the quality might not be too great. And after reading my last post I might seem like I was coming across as being rude by saying I have to prove that it was doing that. That was not meant to be rude or anything I am very happy with RK customer service they seem to be doing their best with helping me with this issue and wanted a video to see what I was talking about to better figure out what the problem is and find a solution.

Dumb question how do I post a video on here I have never done it. I will make the video when I get home from work today as I don't drive the jeep to work so I cant make one now.

Sent video in and called RK Chris was busy so I spoke with someone else (didn't get a name) he said that the noise was normal and nothing to worry about so now I'm confused 2 people there saying different things. Not really worried if it makes noise just want to make sure everything is right. He did give me a solution for the noise he said take the nylon washers off and get a 1/2" lock washer and wing nut so it will be tight and not make noise and still be quick to remove sounds like a good idea to me think I will try that out. But I did promise a video so here is a link. This is the bottom part of the front link trying to hold the camera and push on the bumper was a little hard so excuse the crappy video.

installed the lock washer and wing nut and noise is gone. Taking off the links is still easy and I don't need any tools I actually think its easier to remove the wing nuts than it is the supplied pins. Thanks to RK for the great support and easy fix!!!!
