Default Rock Krawler Tie Rod

I just got my second version Rock Krawler Tie Rod in the mail. I did a search to see what Tie Rod Ends people were running with this tie rod...

Most people are using MOOG Part # ES194R.

Are there any other suggestions? Do local auto stores carry this?

If it is a new style Tie Rod, they are using the OEM TRE at the pitman arm connection for the JK. Both 4WD Hardware and Crown have tons of them in stock! This way the number of service parts or trail spares you have to carry is limited to one single part number!

have you looked at the instructions? it should tell you what part number you need and its not the Moog, they are for version one, you need mopar Part#: 52060049-AE some have reported they were on back order, try Quadratec they list them for $40 I think, otherwise its dealer only

or what he said up there ^^^^^ lol

Ya, i looked at the instructions... doesnt list a part number

But it does say to use "(2) Tie Rod ends for the OEM JK pitman arm location. If you are buying aftermarket parts then it is smart to choose Moog!"

So i will order the Tie Rods for the Pitman Arm location

Thanks!

Tkob, like you I've got the first version RK Tie Rod as well as the early RK Drag Link with the greasable Moog ES194R and ED194L TREs .
I don't think this unit takes a back seat to even the new one or anybody else's product, but I am going to order one of each TRE for "trail spares".
There isn't any difference in the Tie Rod except it takes the different TREs, but I think I like my first design Drag Link better than it's replacement.

My only complaint about the RK Tie Rod and Drag Link.
NO STICKERS!
I guess they left them out of my kit.

The first tie rods used ends from a Chevy HD truck. The second gen. tie rods use the tie rod end from the pitman arm end of the drag link. As of two weeks ago Moog does not make any replacement ends for the 07-09's. A friend of mine runs a local parts store and he called Moog and they told him no front end parts for the JK's yet. I just went to the local Dodge dealer and picked up the ends. I also received no stickers from Rock Krawler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I looked all over the place. We didn't show any in stock and the dealerships are on national backorder. I called our supplier (Crown automotive) and they had over 80 in stock. If you guys need them give me a call 1 800 333 5535 ext. 875 and I can order them in. Part number is 52060049AE. I just ordered 3 in for mine and it only took a few days.
