Default Rock rail suggestion - Stock Rubi Rock rails vs Rugged Ridge Rocker Guards

OK this is what I found. Need opinions.

Stock Rubicon Rock rails for $175
http://www.quadratec.com/products/12112_221_07.htm

or

Rugged Ridge Rocker Guards for $340
http://www.quadratec.com/products/12052_0232_07.htm

both are slightly used.

Which one should I go with?

id get rugged ridge over the rubicons because ever once in a while you have those moments when your jeep slides off a rock and the side goes crashing into rocks or something like that and i would want them to protect the corner of the body all the way to the door.... just my .02

I came off of a rock a few weeks ago in my stock Rubicon and the right quarter panel in front of the door was deformed from the slider bending up. I am now looking for another alternative.

I would vote rugged ridge as well. My Rubirails have worked fine but only with a directly flush vertical impacts. If I slide off a rock it will be REALLY bad news.

The rugged ridge ones are nice because they stick out farther, but they won't prevent the rail from hitting the body if you come off a rock too hard, as they still mount to the body, and not to the frame.

If you want the best strength, go with a frame mounted rail.

Yeap I don't wanna chance f'n up the body of the jeep so I'm goin off road evolutions rock sliders, they are welded to the frame, $399 aint a bad price either, although unless u weld, that's gonna cost a few $$ onto the cost of the sliders but I think its well worth it. Also the LoD, shrockworks mount to the frame, they are a little pricey though, and a long wait from what I hear. I recommend saving for some that are up to the job of taking a beating, should it happen. Just my $.02

the Rugged Ridge "Rock Sliders" are mounted to the frame. their "side steps" are mounted to the body.
