Rock rings on 18" KMC Monster wheels

Hey, seeing if anyone has done this before. I'm thinking about removing the 12 "fake" hex bolt heads from the wheels, then making some rock rings. I will be making them on a waterjet I have at work, then powdercoated. I will probably have to drill and tap multiple holes into the wheels to thread in mounting bolts. Give me your input and what you think!

Will be designing the rings next week. Anyone know how thick the outer bead wall is?
