rock slider issues..(fit and noise)
So i got some xrc rock sliders for my jeep..tried to put them on but there was a clearance issue with the rear control arm mount. so i notched the slide rail to make it fit, installed it, now it seems to make contact with the body mount when i hit a bump in the road and makes a nice klunk noise and constantly squeaks
..My question is "Is this normal?" I mean this part was designed for this jeep! Anybody else had this issue and what did you do to fix it. I guess I'm going to clearance around the body mount and maybe put some rubber gaskets or something on them to stop the squeaking.
I have the ones without the step that come up just below the doors on a four door, they mounted right up with no issues at all, mounted nice and snug with a easy install by myself right to the body mounts no noise or clearing issues, I love them
I have the XRC rock sliders and those things are on there tight! I've hi-lifted my jeep and some idiot even drove into them and they still havent budged. The rock rails (not the side tube but the rails) should be flush against the jeep and have no moment what so ever.
I'd also call Smittybilt. Their customer service is awesome
