Default Rock Trak Transfer Case IN!

Just swapped the Rock Trak 4:1 transfer case into my X. Was a very straight forward swap, and only the very top nut gave me fits. Did it by myself in a few hours (and 3 beers) with no problems.

Went from a crawl ratio of 49.7 and a measure speed of 1.75mph to a crawl ratio of 73.1 and a measured speed of 1.15. Huge difference on rock trails!

If you have been thinking about this, go for it. Very easy and by far the best upgrade to date and money very well spent.

My Jk is pretty close to perfect now

My Rubi JK is still yet to come in, but in my past Jeeps with manuals, in order to go real slow, you have to kinda ride the clutch halfway, in order to crawl. Does this mean, that my new Rubi, with the 4:1 case, mean I can go slower before having to do this clutch thing?

I have a big granite rock in my yard (about 18 inches tall) that I use to check clearances and articulation when I am working on things. I used to have to really slip the clutch to get up on the things, and now it just crawls it like it doesn't even notice it is there!

This is (almost) better than sex!

I think you are going to be as excited as me!!!

My jeep buddies (the Crazy Guy Jeep Club, 2 scramblers and a Monster Cherokee) all have this gearing and they have no problems crawling obstacles that I have a hard time on and stall a lot.

No i don't have Hill Assist. I wonder how hard it would be to retrofit this into an 07???

I may ask this question on another post...
