rocker comparison
Check it out,...

I love the way these look, and I have no doubt that they will perform very well on the trail. Plus it provides a nice step for my wife and kids, and blocks a huge amount of the junk being flung up off my tires from getting on the side of my jeep.
I do have a couple of questions about the mounting where the rail attaches to the body of the Jeep. There is a small space that allows dirt, grime, and water to get between the rail and the body, which will probably cause rubbing and rusting at some point.

COJK, how long did the install take you on the Shrockworks sliders? I received mine just a little while ago but haven't had a free afternoon to mount them. They are so heavy, I suppose I should have someone help me to ease the effort. I can't wait to get them on my Unlimited!

I wonder if a e-brake adjustment window plug from a drum brake would fit? I can't tell if it's the right size or not. Just an idea. I do REALLY like these, but I REALLY, REALLY don't like the $800 price tag. I'll probably go with Tera Flex since I won't be doing heavy rock crawling with this rig.
The space I am concerned about is this one,... Has anyone had these long enough to tell if it actually becomes an issue or not?

I have emailed Rock Hard about caulking this, vs some kind of weather stripping type of gasket which would look okay and keep much of the dirt and gunk out from between the rail and the body of the Jeep.
I do think that the weld points located at the same point as the bolt that secures the rail to the tub are there so that water can drain out from between the slider and the Jeep body.

Did Rock Hard get back to you about this?

They said they are working on something to insert here.
I haven't had a chance to go to Home Depot yet, but will look for a piece of weather stripping or something to slip into this and try to keep it a little clearer.
i have the pure jeep two door rock sliders with the dimpled side step. i am so glad i waited for them to come out. the installation was a little time consumeing but in the end well worth it for the protection they provide. will post a pic when i can figure out how to get my alblums up.
