Of the ones i have seen, My Preference is:
  1. PJ Formed Rocker Guards (has been my #1 pick for a long time) solid as hell, mount like they are part of the jeep from day one, and US made. I love the way they look.
  2. Lod. similar in looks to the PSC ones, but i like the steps on the Lod's better. I have finally seen a set in person and they look great .
I am really at a toss as to which ones i will wind up with, each has thier pros & cons for my needs, but unless something comes along that just blows them away, it'll be one or the other.

I'm still not 100% sure I want to drill into the body of my JK, however I am considering it. I think the PureJeeps are a deal, but really like the look of the MBRPs. Shrockworks look great, no frills really. The Poison Spyder's look awesome, but the skins are an extra $200 on top of the $550 for the sliders with "rocker knockers." I believe the ORE's are about $400 + $220 for the skins. I am trying to keep my budget to $500 and below...

But I really like the PSCs...

Oh, indesiciveness...
Look at my pic how the PS sliders come up the body. The skins may be overkill for average wheeling.. And man, the construction is SOLID!!! Besides the OEM mounting points in the pinch seam and 3 places on the tub, the rocker knockers attach along the bottom of the tub in several more places using 3/8" stainless hardware!!

I too was worried about rocker damage beyond what the Rubi rails offered but the extra coverage the sliders provide gives me piece of mind now.

I like the style and the construction of the LoD sliders. Frame mount and VERY solidly constructed. The integrated step is a nice touch for short people or for when your rig grows up.

I know what you mean. I've been tossing around the idea of getting rock guards and now I think I'm about ready to pull the trigger. They just all seem so similar, I can't make up my mind. I've blown through my Mopar side steps and I need to figure out a beefy rocker protection that incorporates a step, or is easy to step up on, for under $500. I am leaning more toward frame mounted.

Are there advantages/disadvantages to frame mounted vs. body mounted?

X2, everyone has their Preference, I didnt vote because the LOD was not listed. If you like the poision spider ones, i would take a hard look at the LOD's.
David at northridge has them in stock ready to ship,no waiting,no shipping, great price, and outstandding product thats meats what you are looking for, again just my .02 Good luck with whatever you chose

Frame mount is out when you have a body lift as the gap between the slider and body spells trouble for looks and function since you've moved the slider away from what you are trying to protect.

I think they both offer the same solid mounting options since I have seen these PSC sliders carry the full weight of the Jeep on a rock as well as be used as a strap point to pull a Jeep (heavier 4dr) away from danger.

I think overall it comes down to preference and what you can afford. Sure the LOD version seems as stout as the Posion Spyder version but I can speak from experience that every time I have called Poison Spyder...they answer the phone. The owner of Poison Spyder, Larry, has worked with me to the highest level of professionalism in order to ensure what I wanted is what I got. This included modifying my sliders to make room for my 40" tires. So try to factor customer service into the equation. Not saying LOD doesn't have it, just saying from experience I can tell you Poison Spyder DEFINITELY DOES have it.
