Rocker Guards without Steps?
I think I need to take a better look at my JK. Maybe what I'm looking for isn't possible? It seems like most of the TJ rocker guards were simple, almost like someone took a big slab of steel, bent it at a 45 degree angle, and drilled some holes in it. That meant that you could land on a rock anywhere between your front and rear tires for quite a few inches from the edge of the Jeep and hit rocker guard. You could also lean pretty far over or squeeze between rocks without worrying about hitting the body below the doors.
A lot of the ones I'm seeing for the JK seem to focus on rocks that would be near the edge of the Jeep and that's about it. I must be missing something, and apparently I don't know my JK very well yet.

I bought a simple, yet incredibly strong single-tube rocker guards from Olympic 4x4. They offer good protection, yet have lots of clearance to the rockers. I've jacked up the JK with a floor jack under the tube, in line with the mount. No discernible flexing was observed. These are very inexpensive, yet protect better than the factory Rubi rails, which are bolted thru the pinch seam and to the frame (something I really don't like as it will transfer shock directly into the body). They also offer more comprehensive protection with sliders that are extremely stout.
Here's a few views of the single-tube rock rails...

Because Olympic 4x4 Products is a Project-JK vendor, I can provide a link to their side protection products..

So EVO and Poison Spyder both make a bit of armor for around the door frames. Perfect! Unfortunately, it seems like they won't work with all of the sliders. I like the EVO ones because they come down lower and wrap around the body.
The Olympic 4x4 ones on your Jeep, Widewing, look different than the ones on their site. But they look pretty good!

I couldn't find the answer, so why are they higher on one side? Also, the description page says that they are both bolt on and that drilling is required. I see bolts, so there must be some sort of drilling through the body, right? They don't just stick on? I'm looking for something that will require drilling and attaching to the body. Thanks for the info, they look awesome.
On a semi-related note, if anyone sees anything like those Boat Side Bombers but for the JK please let me know (they're perfect).
