i've run shrockworks frame mounted rails and LoD rails now and can tell you that they are very strong - however, you will loose ground clearance with them. i have also run factory rubicon and PJ prototype pinch seam rails and can tell you that they are suprisingly strong as well and can take a real beating - trust me, i have put them to the test. i have installed a set of teraflex body mounted rocker guards as well as fab four and PUREJEEP and of them all, the teraflex and fabfour were the easier of the three to install but i think the PJ offered the most clearance. these are all great rockers as well but you will need to drill into the body.

i Prefer the body mount, higher clearance. Less chance of using them.

PJ's are tough

Just didn't know if body mount was a good way to go or not.

if made right, they are definitely the way to go. i have been running body mounted rocker guards on my TJ for years and they rarely get hit and when they do, they can take a real beating. i have seen the PJ rockers in action as well and can tell you that they can take the beating as well.

has anyone in the states that see road salt run body mounted rocker gaurds? I'm looking at a set that requires drilling into the body, and my biggest concern is rust. any problems with this?

This will be my first winter with them. However I ran Poison spyders on my TJ, they basically mount the same way.

After 5 years I pulled them off, No issues with rust. Just make sure you use alot of RTV sealer

exactly, apply a lot of silicon just below the edges of your rocker guards before installation. let it dry, install and then use your finger to top off the gap with more silicon. this will keep things out well.
