Default Rod Holder Mods?

Now that winter has broken in the NorthEast I have started carrying fishing poles in my 4 door.

I had a friend in the back seat the other day and one of the rods was bothering him so he stashed it above the sport bar. It slid around some and rattled on the windshield but made me think that some type of mod to stash a few poles would be awesome.

Has anyone done a mod to mount rods in a 4 door?

Jeff

I think MOPAR has a kit to carry them on the back.

Not really a mod, but I did the same basic thing only I tied the rods to the back with a bungee cord and wrapped the ends of the rods in a rag to keep them from rattling.

I thought about mounting them on the front or back till I saw how well they fit on the inside. I would perfer to have them inside so I could always have them with me.

If that's the case, paint some PVC, mount it to the cage.

I would like to mount the rods above the sport bar so the reels don't extend down past it.

I have been thinking about the same thing...i guess both for transporting to the boat or for fishing at places like the outer banks. I guess if you can run without the top there might be more options for placing them in the jeep. I think for fishing off the beach a hitch type holder would still be best. I was looking randomly at places like Cabelas ( http://www.cabelas.com/ssubcat-1/cat600033.shtml ) for ideas on putting them in the vehicle. I would also be interested to see if anyone comes up with interesting ideas for this.
