I'm looking for a roof rack for my 2012 JKU, I had the Garvin Wilderness rack on my 2007 JKU and it did its job well but it rusted, it had quite a bit of wind noise at hwy speeds, it was steel and heavy, and quite honestly it was possibly the ugliest design on the market IMHO.
With all of that being said can you guys recommended a good rack for this go around? I'm drawn to the AEV rack due to it's sleek and unobtrusive design but drilling into my hard top weirds me out and renders the rack useless during topless runs/months.

Any real world advice?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I think the MBRP racks are ugly with those thick tubular bars running down the sides...I don't know they just look wierd and impractical to me. Here's another vote for Wild Boar. I like the Gobi racks too though.

I have the Gobi rack on my JKU. Wind noise is not bad. The only complaint I have is that there are not many tie down points other than the expanded metal floor. I would have liked to use the frame rails of the rack to secure loads but my ratchet tie down hooks are too small. Other than that its been great.

garvin, wild boar, gobi, and all those racks the attach to the body are a hassle if you want to remove the hard top and put the soft top on and off, when you drive it rattles at times. plus body drilling

There is no body drilling with Gobi.
