Default Roof Rack

Hello all,
I am new to this forum and really like the threads. I have an '08 JK 2 dr Sahara and am trying to add modest mods. I, like several others, kick myself in the backside for not having bought a 4dr. Unfortunately, I am stationed in Belgium, and can't go trade it in. The pickings are slim and I have to order everything. No chance at a 4 wheel parts store nearby. Never mind the exchange rate from dollars to Euros. So, I want to add mods that help with maximum storage capacity. Among other things, I am looking for a roof rack that is not only recommended but requires the least drilling; utilizes mostly existing bolts and mounts. Any advice or help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum....

i have been running the Kargo Master Congo Cage for over a year now. i am only using the cross bars for transporting things, but there is a basket available for it that is quite sturdy and roomy.

check out www.quadratec.com and search "kargo master"

if i may brag a little, the rig pictured on the site and in the catalogue for the 4-door is mine!

good luck!

I really need a way to transport a kayak and like the rack but I curently have my hard top on the Jeep. Is there enough room between the bars and the top to remove the hard top panels or would you have to remove the bars?

Default Go gobi!

Get a Gobi rack, they are great. No drilling.

The Kargo Master install is a breeze... 2 bolts at each rear corner and remove 3 bolts at the windshield frame (ones u would remove to fold it) it folds up to lower the soft top. Even comes with prop rods to hold it up while folding the soft top! As for the freedom panels I don't know first hand, but there is plenty of room for me to roll the safari top back when I take the roof off.

Its also very sturdy, holds 500 lbs.

I have had my Warrior Safari Rack for almost 2 years now and have been very happy with it. It has a 400 lb capacity on road, 150 off road. The front cross member has 4 tabs for lights and the rear has 2, I use the rear tabs as a place to mount my Hi-Lift. Some of the powder coat is starting to flake a little so I have to do some touch painting. No drilling for the front mount but the the rear support does require drilling the body. I did cave in the body some when I mounted the rear support but they have changed the instructions so that should no longer happen.
