Default roof rack on wrangler

Hi all

I would like to know what you think off this set up? I want to know if anyone has done this and if the roof can hold the weight?

I have been watching roof rack threads also. It seams that most of the rack systems that are approved fo heavy loads have support systems that extend all the way down to the body. I am intrested in one of the track mount systems. I think that with a few mods that they could be reliable. For instance: reinforce the bolt patern on the underside of the roof with a metal strip aproximatly 2" wide and extend the length of the bolt pattern. Bolt holes that extend throug voids shold have a metal spacer to take up th void and keep from collapsing the void. I plan on installing a track system and adding these mods as soon as funds permit. It would be nice if someone would come up with a rack system with support to the body on the underside of the hard top.

I will attach some pictures of the brackets inside the hardtop.

The rack system is built by MBRP Inc. and you can see our info at www.mbrp.com

We have mounted canoe's, kayaks, skiis, boards, cargo boxes and just about anything else you can think of.

The rack is able to support the large weight loads because of the inner structure that mounts right to the tub of the jeep.

So, I read through that whole other thread and, I must say, this thing looks top notch. My only wish would be the ability to run it with the hard top completely off but I don't think that's possible, due to the way you leverage the tub. I'm still considering it, once you guys have some prototype shots for a 2dr. Any news on that?

The hardtop is completely removable but the roof rack will have to come off with it. The rack makes it very easy to hold to remove the hard top because you have something to hang onto...

We have begun prototyping the 2 door model but do not have any pictures at this time. Once the designers have finished drawings and schematics, the production team will take over and I should have something to show everyone.

There are full instructions...We ship world wide. It would have to be a custom shipping quote to Africa though.

Are you looking for one rack? They come apart so shipping is not as bad as it may look...
