I just installed a Gobi rack........two nights ago. It took my son and I a couple of hours, mainly because it was tight squeeze for the mounts adjacent to the back bumper. Overall the rack seems to be solid as a rock. I ordered it about a month and half ago, so I don't recall the price exactly. It was around $1300.

I just installed a Yakima rack to my hard top. I don't know how much that would help you but it could be designed to be mounted to the rollbar pretty easily I think. I used Yakima Tracks installed on the top and then it mounted up as if I had factory tracks up there. Pretty sweet.

The Gobi stealth is a sweet setup.

Unfortunately, once I add a lift to my jeep, a roof rack will be out of the question if I want to park in the garage.

I like the Olympic 4X4 Products Roof Rack, it can slide to either side of the Jeep for shade or camping, and it has 4 drop down support poles that are attached and retract from the rack itself.
You can also put all 4 supports down and leave the rack at camp, or pull your Jeep partially under the rack for shade while working on your Jeep on the trail or in the driveway.

that Olympic is nice, but im assuming the moving parts will make it rattle a lot.

i have a wild boar roof rack, they had a killer deal about a year ago so i couldnt pass it up, its easy to fold up to operate the soft top but you need to take the back frame arms down to get the top completly down, if i was to do it again i probably wouldnt have gotten it, the wind noise with the soft top is almost too much, and it buffets really bad with the hard top on with the front panel removed..... it so needs a wind deflector
